Chapter 18: Not a Private Dispute
Grant called it a brief contact until Priya asked him to explain the room reservation, the badge scan, and Andrew's voice.
At 7:10, WCT's committee-room screen showed two agendas and two secretaries.
Priya chaired the WCT fund discussion. Daphne joined separately for WMG, its corporate secretary beside her.
Vivian occupied the chair between both screens as if position could merge the institutions.
“This is still Jonah Ward's employment dispute,” she said. “It does not belong in a memorial-fund meeting.”
“The fund language belongs to WCT,” Priya replied. “The employment record does not.”
Daphne lifted the WMG agenda. “The meeting confirmation and preservation scope belong here.”
Dana had prepared one verification summary with two numbered transmittals.
I handed the first to WCT's secretary.
It described my withdrawn name and Northline authorization, the disputed memorial language, and WCT's planned donor materials.
It contained no request for WMG files or company system access.
The second went to WMG's corporate secretary through Daphne's secure meeting folder.
It listed the room reservation, accepted calendar event, badge confirmation, and limited audio-examiner conclusion.
It also listed the snapshot directory and hash receipt created under Daphne's emergency corporate authorization.
No recording entered WCT custody.
No snapshot entered our meeting packet.
Grant objected to the word meeting in the proposed WMG acknowledgment.
He offered administrative contact instead.
“A contact does not reserve a room for four people,” Priya said. “It does not scan a visitor badge or produce Andrew's recorded instruction inside that room.”
Grant reminded her that WCT did not control WMG's characterization.
“I do not,” Priya said. “Daphne does. I asked you to explain your word.”
The correction left his authority objection intact and his euphemism exposed.
Daphne asked the corporate secretary to read the neutral version aloud.
WMG confirms that a January 11, 2024 meeting occurred at its headquarters with Andrew Whitmore, Vivian Whitmore, and Jonah Ward among the scheduled participants.
The sentence did not concede Jonah's account of every topic.
It did not call the gathering an audit hearing or establish retaliation.
It did end WMG's ability to describe the event only as an unverified private allegation.
Grant requested that the preservation paragraph state the content remained unopened.
Daphne agreed because it was true.
The corporate secretary added that read-only snapshots and hash values had been created for identified calendar, gateway, badge, and portal activity under WMG authority, with review access unresolved.
That acknowledgment stayed in the WMG record.
Priya then returned to WCT's docket.
“Our question is whether Friday's fund materials may use Claire's name, Northline's endorsement, or the disputed description while those permissions are withdrawn.”
Vivian demanded that the WMG acknowledgment be attached to the fund minutes as proof that the matter was being handled.
Priya refused.
She allowed WCT's minutes to note that a separate company process existed, but not to import its evidence or treat it as resolution of the fund dispute.
Daphne made the reciprocal limit explicit: WMG's minutes would not decide whether WCT could launch a nonprofit fund.
Two institutions had used one family name for years.
For the first time in the dispute, each secretary wrote down what the other institution could not do.
The Audit Committee's source letter arrived through the corporate secretary before the WMG segment closed.
It confirmed that D04's redacted export came from the committee register and matched the version generated for Dana on March 18.
The letter authenticated source and version, not the reason Issue 17 had been closed.
Daphne attached it to WMG's record.
The written acknowledgment passed over Grant's reservation and Vivian's objection under Daphne's independent company authority.
The record changed no final liability finding. It changed where denial could hide: the meeting now existed in WMG's own written record, while the fund dispute existed separately in WCT's.
My marriage had entered both dockets in different ways, and neither could be repaired by a private promise to Vivian.
Priya converted Friday's noon luncheon into a WCT fund-authority meeting.
Before adjourning, Daphne required my written conditions for suspending my name and Northline authorization by nine the next morning.
